Katax witnessed the thousand of newly passed CPAs taking an Oath before members of the Professional Regulation Commission, Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Board of Accountancy.
Although he is also a CPA, by choice, he was too shock and in the awe of disbelief when he heard the pre-determined words, phrases and sentences that are being put inside the mouths of these CPA.
He wanted to speak up for and on behalf of them but his second thought says that there could be other venue to air dissatisfaction and distrust.
Hear is the content of the CPA's OATH, "AKO SI (PANGALAN) NG (TIRAHAN) AY TAIMTIM NA NANUNUMPA NA ITATAGUYOD KO AT IPAGTATANGGOL ANG SALIGANG BATAS NG PILIPINAS; NA AKO'Y TUNAY NA MANANALIG AT TATALIMA RITO; NA SUSUNDIN KO ANG MGA BATAS, MGA UTOS NA LEGAL, AT MAG ATAS NG IPAHAYAG NG MGA SANDYANG ITINKDANG MAY-KAPANGYARIHAN NG REPUBLIKA NG PILIPINAS, AT KUSA KONG BABALIKATING ANG MGA PANANGUTANG ITO, NANG WALANG ANO MANG PASUBALI O HANGRING UMIWAS. Taimtim pa rin akong nanunumpa na sa lahat ng pahanon at pook na kinalalagyan ay mahigpit akong manghahawakan sa mga etikal at tuntuning propesyonal ng mga Certified Public Accountants ng Pilipinas, at matapat kong gagampanan nang buong husya sa abot ng akong makakaya ang mga tungkulin at panaguting iniatang sa isang itinakdang Certified Public Accountant. Kasihan Nawa Ako ng Diyos"
Nanlambot ang aking katawan at biglang naawa sa libo-libong bagong CPAs na walang kamuang-muang na inilalagay nila sa alanganin ang kanilang sarili at pamilya dahil lang sa isang SUMPA.
"Pwe, Pwe?" sa inyong mga bastos at walang pakialam sa mga mahihina at kulang sa kaalaman.
THE CAPITALIZED WORDS AND SENTENCES ARE TAKEN FROM THE OATH OF OFFICE OF A PUBLIC OFFICIAL THAT CAN BE GLEANED FROM THE 1987 ADMINISTRATIVE CODE (E.O 292).
The second and last paragraph is contrary to the copy-cutted first paragraph thereof because ethical standards and professional principles being pushed forward by the alleged bright-minded and God-fearing people are not the laws of the State and are all copied from abroad. In the words of Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile, as Katax rephrase, "Hindi puedeng gamitin sa Pilipinas ang standards at principles ng ibang bansa kahit na iyang ay international task force or known organization kasi hindi naman ginawa ng mga kinatawan ng Pilipinas (Congress). Inaamin ng mga nagsusulong ng CPA's Oath na higit na mahalaga ang pagsunod sa batas kasya sa etikal an alituntunin ng CPA kasi sa nagsabing SUMPA ay willing makulong ang isang CPA kapag siya ay lumabas sa batas. At ang batas na susuunging niya sa pagnenegosyo o pagpra practice ay New Civil Code, Revised Penal Code, Philippine Constitution at Tax Code.
Maraming tao including CPAs, lawyers, at taxpayers do not know that OPTIONAL lang ang pagtalikda sa PFRS at PSA kasi di naman nga batas iyan eh.
